Wool in summer – Yes? No? ….. Hell Yes!

Wool in summer – Yes? No? ….. Hell Yes!

Sporting woollen clothing in summers is debatable. Wool has been a winter favourite because there are apparels and accessories like sweaters, dresses, scarves and gloves which are extensively used to make a style statement in the winter season. Now, the question is if wool is arguably wearable in the summer season without being frowned upon by the Fashion Nazis. Wool has various types and every type has its own distinctive properties.  Wool in fact, is a naturally flexible fabric, as it doesn’t hold wrinkles and fold creases like most other fabrics.

Woollen clothing in summers can turn out to be more of comfort clothing. Merino wool in the summer season is a good idea as it breathes beautifully. The light weight is of a leverage considering the sweaty humid weather which has the power to make your pants stick to your skin. It manages body odour better than all the other fabrics evidently obviating the need of adding some extra weight of perfumes in your bag. The miraculous Merino wool can be worn throughout the year. The coolest summer fabric, literally!

The wool in winters on the contrary, acts as an insulator and helps you keep warm. The properties of the wool are mercurial. Merino wool is an excellent temperature regulator itself. The Cashmere wool, Mohair, Qiviut and Angora are also the winter wardrobe essentials. The shawls, jackets, scarves and sweaters obtained from the wool mentioned above, are in massive demand throughout winter.

The impending climatic changes do not affect the woollen fabric. Its resistance to fire is far better as compared to other fabrics. Wool generates heat in the winter when it comes in contact with the moisture and absorbs it.

Style Tip – Wool can be worn in summers and in winters without offending the style gurus.
